When In Rome (Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel) : Movie Trailer
Just when you thought no studio would dare to release another romantic comedy and have the balls to use the exact same poster art and font as EVERY OTHER ROMANTIC COMEDY OF THE LAST 2 YEARS… along comes When In Rome.
The flick follows an ambitious young New Yorker (the super cute Kristen Bell), disillusioned with romance (wow, what a truly unique idea), takes a whirlwind trip to Rome where she defiantly plucks magic coins from a fountain of love, inexplicably igniting the passion of those who threw them in: a sausage magnate (Danny Devito, who is kicking butt in It’s Always Sunny In Philidelphia at the moment), a street magician (Jon Heder… Oh, that’s where he’s been hiding), an adoring painter (Will Arnett, hoping to finally make it “in the movies”) and a self-admiring model (Dax Sheperd, he of no talent and plenty of friends).
But when a charming reporter (Josh Duhmel) pursues her with equal zest, how will she know if his love is the real thing?
WHAT’S THE BUZZ
Caught a sneak peak of When In Rome at a Disney function in mid-2009 and have to say, while it doesn’t look groundbreaking it does look like fun. These movies are a dime and dozen and make no bones about it – if you miss it… you’re life isn’t exactly going to be poorer for doing so.
That said, Will Arnett and Kristen Bell are fairly solid enough reasons to head out to the cinema (but that could be because I have a thing for short girls…).
WATCH OUT FOR
How easily this movie could star just about anyone (cue Ashton Kutcher looking upset going “It should have been me!”, getting over it, and then rolling over and doing Demi).
This is the perfect example of a cut-and-paste romantic comedy with no thought or effort actually needed to make it.
