Jason Segel & The Swell Season : Viral Video

Ever wondered what the star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I Love You, Man – Jason Segel – gets up to on his weekends [aside from writing the new MUPPETS MOVIE]? The answer is… well, Swell.

Actor Jason Segel ( of “How I Met Your Mother” fame) continued his obsession with sneaking in a ditty into every public appearance, this time performing his latest original song with The Swell Season, at The Wiltern in Los Angeles.

How did it all come about? Well, the story goes that the band was at a restaurant in LA; drinking tea, when they were offered a bottle of wine by Paul Rudd and Jason Segel. Ironically,  The Swell Season had been enjoying watching their Freaks & Geeks DVDs while on tour so they soon became good acquaintances.

The Swell Season then asked Jason Segel to be a surprise guest and sing a song…

WHAT’S THE BUZZ
It seems like only yesterday I was sitting up late at night, like  a massive mid-teen loser, waiting to watch the latest installment of Freak & Geeks which had been – once again – butt raped into a post midnight timeslot by Channel 9.

Now days, it would be prime time on GO!

My point is, I feel like I’ve know Segel for years, like I’ve grown up with him (the same way people really get into no-name bands, and then get shitty when people start buying their albums and the songs gets played on Nova).

So while I love the fact Segel is doing this, it kind of annoys me that 75% of the 99,000 who have viewed this viral video are also the mindless idiots who, until a few years ago, still thought Christina Aguilera was the pinacle of the music industry.
