Up In The Air, based on the 2001 novel written by Walter Kirn, follows the jet-setting life of corporate exterminator (he fires office workers, he doesn’t kill bugs) and inspirational speaker Ryan Bingham, played fantastically by the king of smug George Clooney.
Ryan spends at least 300 days a year traveling from company to company undertaking mass firings and the rest of his time holding seminars (what he likes to call “Some real Tony Robbins shit!”) about his way of living out of his suitcase.
Ryan’s only commitment in life is to the hotels he stays at, the cars that he hires and the airlines he flies…

WHAT’S THE BUZZ
It seems that Hollywood has fallen in love with making ‘loose adaptations’ of novels into multi-million dollar blockbuster pics (See Where The Wild Things Are and Twilight) and why wouldn’t they?!
The books usually have a fanbase and most of the writing work is done, leaving the big shot producers to drive their big, fancy, environment-bashing cars and attend their many wild cocaine parties.
What I’m getting at here is that it’s not such a bad thing, in fact it can be a great thing, especially when it comes to Jason Reitman’s film Up In The Air and its glorious cast including comedy kings Danny McBride, Jason Bateman and Zach Galifianakis.
WATCH OUT FOR
An amazing live performance of “Bust-a-Move” by Mr. Young MC himself at a Business conference in Miami… I know, I know, I thought he was dead too.
