Triple J’s One Night Stand – Alice Springs : Music News

Triple J’s One Night Stand concert series is about bringing the big live music experience to young people in regional areas and this year we’re heading to Alice Springs.

Over the past few years, triple j has crossed the nation from Karratha (WA) to Burnie (TAS), from Humpty Doo (NT) to Port Pirie (SA) and last year Gippsland in Victoria.

Alice Springs is unique and as significant to our national identity as great Australian music, so we reckon this One Night Stand may just be our best ever. With full support from Alice Springs Town Council, triple j is rapt to invite you to our free all-ages One Night Stand concert on Saturday 27 March.

John Butler will be at this years One Night Stand in Alice Springs.

John Butler Trio will headline the show with three more of Australia’s finest artists to be announced on 17th February. Plus Triple J’s Unearthed program will be searching for the region’s best band to open the event.

Triple J manager, Chris Scaddan said of the concert, “Alice Springs has a young population, a giant history and a big musical heart. It is a special place and we think this could be the best triple j One Night Stand yet.”

Our free all-ages regional concerts are one of the absolute highlights for triple j each year but the One Night Stand is more than a concert. triple j broadcasts the entire event live on the radio along with online video, photos, music streams and artist blogs updated live during the concert. Plus we film the whole concert for later broadcast on triple j tv, reaching hundreds of thousands of music fans all around the nation.

What: A free concert with 5 bands , featuring John Butler Trio and 3 Australian bands, plus one Unearthed band. All ages, drug & alcohol free event
