Terminator 2, Jurassic Park & Robin Hood Go 3D : Movie News

With Avatar kicking the butts of cinema goers and critics across the country, it is safe to say that 3D is here to stay (especially when cinema owners can get away with charging extra for 3D tickets) with news that Ridely Scott’s Robin Hood and James Cameron’s Terminator 2 : Judgement Day getting the 3D treatment in the near future.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 3D re-release of Toy Story has inspired execs to go back through the “Cash Cow” catalogue and refresh some old faces after it was revealed that “Lightstorm [have] done 3D tests on James Cameron’s two most successful movies: Titanic and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”

Also jumping on the bandwagon is Aliens director Ridley Scott who, as The Wrap reported, is quite keen on transforming his upcoming adaptation of Robin Hood (starring Aussie Russell Crowe) into a 3D blockbuster.

Also locked into making the leap into the 3rd Dimension in the next few years are are Jackass 3, Zombieland 2 (which you can read about here)  as well as all three original Star Wars movies and Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (which is set to be revamped soon, with a second trilogy on the way).

So, a word of advice from the WATCH OUT FOR | MOVIES team… keep those 3D glasses next time you head to the cinema instead of “recycling” them – it’ll save you a good deal of cash in the long run!

Now… where are those “Real D” glasses from when I had to sit through Brendan Fraser’s Journey To The Centre Of The Earth 3D? Oh, that’s right, I burnt them… like I did the memory of that movie… from my memory… forever.
