As a stand alone film, I’m Still Here is far from perfect, it’s highly disposable – however when looked at as a piece of a much larger social experiment, it’s a pretty astonishing achievement.

The film, which follows Joaquin from the announcement of his retirement from acting, his “Mental Breakdown” and his pursuits for a legitimate rapping career. Throughout the documentary Joaquins friends, agent, assistants, family and other well known celebs watch on as the beard grows bigger, the drug intake increases and the inevitable train-wreck looms closer and closer.
