Attention all “Uncle Pervies”… the short skirted gals from St. Trinians are back. The question is, did we really ask for them to return?
St Trinians 2: The Legend Of Fritton’s Gold sees the schoolgirls start a new term amidst the usual chaos and excitement. Rupert Everett returns as unconventional Headmistress ‘Camilla Fritton’ and Colin Firth as her old flame Geoffrey Thwaites.
St Trinians 2 : Now Even Sluttier
A rollercoaster style treasure hunt for the legendary Fritton’s Gold (I wonder if that is anything like City Slickers’ “Curly’s Gold”) ensues as they face their most fearsome establishment rivals yet, but the feisty, ever-resourceful girls of St. Trinians are undeterred in their mission to outwit the villainous Pomfrey (David Tennant) and his sidekicks from the women-hating secret society known as AD1.
WHAT’S THE BUZZ
Now, call me crazy, but I don’t particularly recall the first St. Trinians flick being all that loved or profitable. I could be wrong, but one gets the distinct feeling that much like the Goal films – a sequel was assured no matter how many (or how few) people actually saw the film.
The upside is that pretty much the entire cast are big UK names (although Russell Brand seems strangely absent this time around), with the most exciting new face being Dr. Who’s David Tennant.
Could be good – but more than likely, pretty mediocre.
WATCH OUT FOR
The amount of effort that must go into making these young girls look as slutty as possible. Not that I’m complaining…
