The Songwriters In The Round concept embraces the idea of collaboration and community, as a group of performers sit in a circle and perform songs on a rotating basis. The best part is, it only sets you back $5!

On their website, the people over at this fine organisation are all meeting Melbourne’s demand for fine musicians and performers:

“Melting Pot are a group of music oriented individuals who put on a number of live music events around Melbourne. We are responsible for Melbourne’s original ‘Songwriters in the Round’ which has been running in Fitzroy for the last 2 years. We also put on regular band nights at various venues around Melbourne such as the Evelyn, Northcote Social Club, Corner Hotel and the Espy. We try to assist artists in taking the next step forward in their development – whatever that may be.”

And so, tonight, they have a fine installement of beautiful talent just waiting to be heard.
