Natalie Portman – Zombie Killer : Movie News

While we all know and love Natalie Portman as that sweet, sexy and quirky gal from Garden State, there are just as many who know her for her foul mouth and sense of humour (if you’ve ever seen her SNL Digital Short – you know what I’m talking about).

So is it a surprise to anyone that Portman has signed onto not only produce, but star, in a new flick which takes the piss out of Jane Austen while simultaneously decapitating the walking dead?

According to Variety, Natalie Portman will be heavily involved in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, (the much talked about adaption of the bestselling book written by Seth Grahame-Smith and Austen). And before all you literary nuts go “Hang on, why don’t I own that Austen novel”… it’s because it doesn’t exist… Grahame-Smith “took the liberty of adding bloodthirsty flesh-eating zombies to the mix”.

The film tells the “timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence” which is, as we all know, set “amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers”. You remember that from Year 10 English, yeah?

Portman is set to play the feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (who is “distracted from her quest to eradicate the zombie menace by the arrival of the arrogant Mr. Darcy”).

We can only hope that this is the last Zombie flick for a while (especially with a sequel to Zombieland in the works, the 3D epic Condition Dead, along with a multitude of similarly themed epics trying to jump on the bandwagon). Until then, let’s just enjoy some of Natalie Portman’s better moments… this one from Zach Galifianakis and his “Between Two Ferns” series.
