Did You Hear About The Morgans? (Sarah Jessica Parker & Hugh Grant) : Movie Trailer

What happens when you take the most recognisable female star of Sex And The City and England’s most loved fop in Hugh Grant – well, you get something along the lines of Did You Hear About the Morgans?

It follows a highly successful Manhattan couple, Meryl and Paul Morgan (Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant), whose almost perfect lives have only one notable failure: their dissolving marriage. That said, the turmoil of their romantic lives is nothing compared to what they are about to experience: they witness a murder and become targets of a contract killer.

The Feds, protecting their witnesses, whisk the Morgans away from their beloved New York to a tiny town in Wyoming, and a relationship that was on the rocks threatens to end completely in the Rockies unless, in their new BlackBerry-free lives, the Morgans can slow down the pace and rekindle the passion.

WHAT’S THE BUZZ
It is fair to say that this is a fairly “reliable” rom-com pairing… and when I say “reliable” I mean “Slightly Past Their Used By Date And Taking What They Can”. Now, admittedly, that sounds a little harsh. In fact, I still rate Hugh Grant as one of the funnier (if not under used these days) rom-com leading men on the circuit.

But doesn’t this all look a little too… “Wait for DVD”? Sure, it does show some promise – but to most, Parker will always be Carrie Bradshaw and that is really going to effect the flow of the flick whether you like it or not. And didn’t Tim Allen and Kirsty already tread similar ground with For Richer Or Poorer?

I think a YouTube follower said it best when he suggested “I think they’re ready to do the new Cocoon Movie”.
