The good folks over at Lionsgate have given us the inside look at some new screen shots from the epic new flick Daybreakers [read our full review here] starring Ethan Hawke, Willam Dafoe and Aussies Isabel Lucas and Claudia Karvan and Vince Colosimo.
Ethan Hawke & Sam Neil Pop Up In Daybreakers
In Daybreakers Ethan Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a researcher in the year 2019, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world’s population into vampires.
As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.
WHATS THE BUZZ
At first look, everyone’s first reaction SHOULD be “Geeez, I need another Vampire movie like a need a hole in… the neck”.
However, Dafoe and Hawke are known for bringing a bit of cred to their various projects, and with the effects driven epic looking like The Matrix with fangs – I’m going to have to side with Daybreakers… for now.

WATCH OUT FOR
The slew of Australian faces. It’s quite exciting to see Claudia Karvan making a stamp on the Hollywood blockbusters of late, having been easily the finest female actor in Australia of the last decade.
Also… is that a bit of Warner Brothers Movie World I see? Perhaps not… but the flick was shot throughout Queensland, and one has to hope that (in at least one scene) someone in a Bugs Bunny suit can be seen walking in the background.
