Yogi Bear : Movie Trailer

Well if you are a massive Yogi Bear fan, you would already know that a live action Yogi Bear film has been in a queue to be made for quite a while, with Warner Bros. set to distribute and finance the project but just recently we were finally given some more news on the project.
Variety recently reported that a principal cast has been chosen and filming will begin in one month in New Zealand, with a release date set for December 2010.

But hang on to your “Pick-a-nick baskets”, check out the cast… As the voice of the “Smarter than your average” bear Yogi , it’s Mr Dan Aykroyd. As his small but humble sidekick Boo-Boo the vocal stylings of JT (Justin Timberlake for those of you not in the know) and playing a live action documentary maker, star of Scary Movie and the already-forgotten The Housebunny, Anna Faris.
The question is – in a world of Marmaduke and The Chipmunks, do we really want something lame like Yogi Bear destroying our memories? Decide for yourself with the trailer below (note how terrible Akroyd’s Yogi impression is).

Now, just for arguments sake, let’s compare this against the original cartoon version. Sure, it’s never going to be EXACTLY the same… but could we at least try?
