The king of hip-hop’s new school, Lupe Fiasco, has kicked off his Australian tour with two astonishing shows in Sydney and Perth which have had critics in a frenzy.

From the moment Lupe took the stage at the tour-opening Enmore Theatre on Sunday night, he proved to Sydney concert-goers exactly why he is consistently pegged as one of the most captivating live performers in hip-hop.

The ever-charismatic Lupe performed a variety of reworked classics, including hot favourite ‘Kick, Push’, as well new tracks such as the emotive and previously unreleased ‘Beautiful Lasers’ from his upcoming third studio release titled Lasers.

Lupe Fiasco will perform at Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide on Thursday before final Australian show at a special event at Melbourne Zoo on Friday night. This final performance is the first installment in a unique new concert series titled Sound Safari which has been one of the most talked and blogged about events of the summer.

Supports for all shows on the tour include Phrase, Lowrider and Diafrix. Lupe’s Sound Safari show will also see the addition of True Live, Space Invadas, M.A.F.I.A. and Mat Cant.

The Chicago native is in absolutely stellar form and anyone that’s lucky enough to have seen him in the past will know the electricity that he is capable of creating when he’s on point. This is a must-see.
