Yes, it’s that time of the month again when the lovely people over at Triple J release their equally as lovely Triple J Magazine. And as always, it is simply bursting with musical goodness.
In this April issue, Triple J Magazine spends a couple of weeks in the maelstrom surrounding Australia’s newest not-so hip-hop sensation, 360, who after having a brush with mortality and is coping with death threats, is continuing to challenge the hip-hop establishment.
In the grip of the Melbourne Inernational Comedy Festival, Triple J get into the minds of some leading jokers inlcuding Celia Pacquola, Tommy Little, Claudia O’Doherty, Dave Thornton and Tom Ballard.
They’ve got some wonderful in-depth features with Children Collide, The Mars Volta and Brisbane’s own up-and-comers DZ Deathrays.
Added to that go surfing with Mariachi El Bronx, get the low-down on Tame Impala’s new album, and Jim James of My Morning Jacket on the records he listened to as a kid
Grimes’s top five chillout tunes
Whether it be on the morning commute, or perhaps the evening sit alone at home with a hot cup of tea and Scotch Finger, the the Triple J Magazine really is the most interesting and comprehensive magazine developed for people who love music by people who love music.
You can find J-Mag online here, where you can even have a quick look before you buy, or do it old fashioned way and procure a copy from your local newsagency or ABC Store.
