There is nothing I love more than a Judd Apatow flick, not just because they star the best comedic talent in the business – but because you know that the script is never going to get in the way of improv.
Sure, the flicks might not run under 90 minutes, but if you love your comedy, 2 hours plus of untouched spontaneous riffing is nothing short of a God-Send.
So, for those who are on the “Judd Apatow is the Devil and Lowest form of Comedy” bandwagon, bear in mind that Get Him To The Greek will be more of the same. If you don’t want that, then go rent a Hillary Duff movie…
Get Him To The Greek
Get Him To The Greek is (oddly) a spin-off of the middling hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall (written and starring Jason Segel who is currently working on the new Muppets Movie) which follows Aaron Green (Jonah Hill, fresh off working on the 21 Jump Street movie) who has 72 Hours to get Rock Star Aldous Snow from London to L.A.
Aldous Snow (when we last saw him) was a brilliant musician, but now his star power is starting to fade (like a less dorky version of Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20), and hes in desperate need of a comeback. Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) is instructed by his record mogul boss, Sergio Roma (Sean “P Diddy” Combs), to fly to London and escort Aldous Snow to L.A.s world famous Greek Theatre for the opening night of his comeback tour and of course, its no easy task!
WATCH OUT FOR
The bevy of cameos including WATCH OUT FOR | COMEDY favourite Aziz Ansari (best known as Raaaaaaaandy from Funny People). I was lucky enough to chat to Judd Apatow last year, and he was happy to spill the beans on a number of names and faces that are expected to pop up [you can watch that interview here], and boy, he really knows how to pull those Hollywood strings.
This is going to be great!
