When it comes to British comedy, history has shown that very little fails to make an impact on Australian audiences, yet UK hit Gavin & Stacey has somehow managed to slip under the Australian radar.

It’s a real shame too, because Gavin & Stacey is one of the better comedies to come out of the UK in quite some time… well, at least one of the best with Welsh accents.

The third and final series returns right in the thick of things: Gavin has moved from Essex to Wales to live with his wife Stacey (where the “sex feels less dirty”) leaving his long time buddy, Smithy, feeling a little left out.

However, things start to get even more complicated once the “baby” issue arises.

The show works best when Smithy (James Corden) is given room to shine, while UK comedy veteran, Rob Brydon, also delivers some pretty consistent laughs as the “Kel Knight-esque” Bryn West.

While the finale is a surprisingly touching affair, newcomers should be warned, Gavin & Stacey does take some getting used to – but stick with it because much like scabies, this one burrows under your skin… in a good way.
