Flight Of The Conchords – The Movie : Movie News

It seems you can’t turn left or right without a TV series saying goodbye to the small screen in favour of a leap to the silver one. First it was Sex And The City, then there was the rumoured Entourage movie – and now New Zealand’s folk comedy duo The Flight Of The Conchords are the next in line.

The loveable Jermaine Clement and Bret McKenzie recently announced on their official website that they won’t be returning to TV or HBO for a third series of their cult hit.

They’re suggesting that they’ve “Noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a third season”.

However, the end of a TV series doesn’t mean the end of the duo – in fact – it’s the opposite.

In an interview with NME Bret McKenzie conceded that he doesn’t ”Know if it [Flight Of The Conchords] is officially dead, but I think it’d be more likely that we’d do a film or something like that” .

McKenzie also confirmed that the Flight Of The Conchords live show (which was a huge hit in America) is set to visit the UK next year and could also head across to Australia and their home country of New Zealand.

But, the question remains… what becomes of ol’ Ginger Balls?
