When it comes to modern day comedy icons, they don’t come much bigger than Dylan Moran. While the his series Black Books shot him into the mainstream conciousness, it’s safe to say that Moran has struggled transferring that success to the big screen.

Sadly, A Film With Me In It isn’t the break out movie fans might be hoping for. In fact, it’s about as dark and anti-mainstream as a film can possibly get – but that doesn’t mean it is void of laughs altogether.

Written by and starring Mark Doherty, brother of comedian David (who appears briefly), the film follows the plight of an unsuccessful actor who somehow ends up with a large number of dead bodies on his hands. Together with his friend Pierce (Moran), they must attempt to escape their predicament by re-writing the day’s events as if it were a film… as the body count continues to rise!

While it does take it’s time to get moving, once the film hits it’s stride, Moran and & Co deliver some of the most perfectly executed examples of old fashioned British Farce that we haven’t seen since Basil Fawlty.
