Cop Out (Tracy Morgan, Bruce Willis) : Red Band Movie Trailer

While Bruce Willis may not exactly be pining to head back into John McClane territory in Aziz Ansari’s next movie (read about it here), he certainly isn’t over being an action hero with his new comedy / action flick Cop Out traveling up a very familiar path.
The new buddy comedy flick (cult director Kevin Smith’s first non-Smith movie… ever) has gone through several changes since being greenlit (including losing original stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg and changing it’s name from A Couple Of Dicks to A Couple Of Cops to Cop Out) but is finally making it to screens.
The first trailer that was released (watch it at the bottom of this page) left a lot to be desired – however, judging by the newly released Red Band trailer (aka. the trailer with the naughty bits in it) which you can watch directly below, this could actually be pretty damn funny.

The comedy (co-starring 30 Rock‘s Tracy Morgan) follows two cops whose adventures include locating a stolen baseball card, rescuing a woman, and dealing with gangsters and their laundered money.
There are two major complaints when it comes to comedy trailers. First up is “Showing all the funny bits in the trailer, which results in the movie itself looking lame”, then there is “Not showing enough of the funny bits, no one seeing the movie, then realising on DVD it is actually pretty good”.
The worrying sign here that Cop Out doesn’t show signs of being outrageously funny, it just looks a little bit… well… average doesn’t it? That said, there are some decent laughs on offer (especially from Tracy Morgan, as well as Willis finally offering up a decent comedic role) so give this one a chance.
