From the accomplished director Keith Schofield ( Super Grass, Ting Tings), Charlotte Gainsbourg explores the wonderful weird, and whacky (often all at the same time) with this delightfully quirky song Heaven Can Wait. Performed as a duo with Beck, this songs left-of-centre approach begins to make a whole lot more sense. I suppose it also helps that her father was French crooning mastermind Serge Gainsbourg.

Charlotte Gainsbourg - Making a name for herself.
Heaven Can Wait is pulled from Charlotte’s third album IRM which was written and produced by Beck. Being a long time fan of Serge Gainsbourg, it seems the genre-bending troubadour was more than happy to work with at least one Gainsbourg in his lifetime.
Charlotte Gainsbourg is the perfect female vehicle for the songwriting talents of Beck, and Heaven Can Wait, although a perculiar clip, is evidence of this ‘perfect fit’.
