Laura Davis : The Dog In The Ink

You end up leaving the show having not only learned a little something about your subconscious and Freudian theory via an hour of hilarity, but you walk out of there feeling warm, contented, practically hugged.

the wrong night

I’m always wary of any comedy that might be described as ‘edgy’. A comic performer on stage, attempting nothing more than to produce the most outrageous or offensive material they can muster never fails to draw a yawn from me. Lucky for us, then, that The Wrong Night is exactly the opposite.

The Bedroom Philosopher

The Bedroom Philosopher tonight played mostly from his latest and undoubtedly most successful record, Songs from the 86 Tram, but also snuck in some well-worn favourites.

Eastbound & Down – Series 1 (Danny McBride) : DVD Review

eastboundanddown

Who would’ve guessed building a show around a character who is essentially Ron Burgundy meets Warrick Capper could be so rewarding!

Frank Woodley : Bewilderbeast

While many audience members were sitting there with hopes of a reunion somewhat soon, they did revel in the independent act that is Frank Woodley solo – the loveable larrikin we have indeed come to know and love, as skilled and comically talented without Lano by his side.

All rise for the adorable and brilliant Andrew McClelland! Mr McClelland will be your tutor tonight, so if you are averse to taking your comedy with a slice of learning pie, then get outta the kitchen! I don’t know where this metaphor is going.

Sammy J & Randy

Sammy and Randy are housemates and best friends in their Ricketts Lane, Glen Iris abode, which is more or less the setting of this speedy, zany musical comedy show.

The Road To Hell

The well defined characters and comical parodies are all there: the egotistical and lyrically questinoable lead singer Chas with guitarist Vince looking over his shoulder. And lets not forget the bass player with the undefined sexuality, the drug addicted drummer and the happless tambourinist/kazooist Gerald.
