Oh, summer music festivals. How us Australians live for the day when you come around and grace us with your presence.

One of the biggest, and most highly regarded festivals, The Big Day Out is generally seen to have a stellar line-up year after year. And although the line-up has not been confirmed as yet, there have been ‘whispers’..

Big Day Out : 2011

According to Tone Deaf, super producer Mark Ronson announced in an interview that he will be playing the legendary Australian festival. Meanwhile, in the same interview, Ronson also confirmed the rumours that publicity queen and all ’round badass M.I.A. will also be performing at the event.

Along with these announcements, word on the street is that Ronson and M.I.A will be joined alongside Hot Hot Heat and The National… and there has even been whispers of Kings of Leon performing at the event.

Let’s just hope that there are no pigeons around to defecate into the mouth of Kings of Leon’s bass guitarist Jared Followill’s mouth again. We all know that happened at that St. Louis show…
