The resurgence of a London sound that will satisfy fans of genre-hopping fans. Erland and the Carnival are being talked up as the start of a new-age Indie folk scene and I’ll tell you what, my fingers are crossed.
With comparisons being made to powerhouse British vocalists Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Adele, it’s little wonder as to why fellow Brit, Alice Russell, is wowing worldwide audiences with her unique brand of Soul/Funk/Blues.
Despite mediocre results from Hollywood’s more recent ‘rom-com’ outings (Valentine’s Day – to name one), The Rebound actually holds its own, and for the most part, was an entertaining watch. It had its moments with jokes that weren’t quite funny but it seems the ‘rom-com’ genre still might have a few tricks up its sleeve.

Having only been on the music scene since 2007, Owl City has quickly gained popularity across the US and beyond creating music that Young describes as “electronic pop being force-fed a healthy diet of keyboard smoothies”.
OK, maybe I exaggarated a little. There were no bodies, and damage was minimal. But stifling hot US band White Rabbits definitely ‘brought the house down’ with their unique brand of indie rock and roll.
They’ve toured with the likes of Spoon, The Walkmen and the Kaiser Chiefs and now Brooklyn based band, the ‘White Rabbits’ are heading to Australia for their first visit to our mighty fine country.
