It’s been over a decade since the team from Working Dog (who created legendary shows such as Frontline, Thank God You’re Here, The Late Show and The Panel) took their talents to the big screen.
It’s somewhat surprising considering that the two times they have (The Castle and The Dish) they created films that not only broke all kinds of Box Office records – but managed to infiltrate the Australian psyche like no other before or since.
Filmed during October and November of 2010, Any Questions For Ben (originally titled 25) has taken it’s sweet time coming to cinemas. The release date has been pushed back several times (it’s most recent, January 26 was pushed back AGAIN to February 9th 2012) and very little has been revealed… until now!
When WATCH OUT FOR | COMEDY spoke to Tom Gleisner [Read the Full Interview Here] he was very tight lipped, suggesting simply that “It’s was a seven week shoot – which is fairly quick by most people’s standards for a feature” and that “It’s pretty good”.
The film stars Josh Lawson (who just signed on to star as Zach Galifianakis‘ brother in the new Will Ferrell movie Dog Fight), Rachael Taylor (Red Dog and Transformers), Ed Kavalee, Jodi Gordon (The Cup), Christian Clark (Home and Away) and Daniel Henshall (Snowtown).
It follows Lawson, Clark and Henshall as three young housemates in their mid twenties living it up in Melbourne’s restaurants, bars and clubs. It’s rumoured to be the first “Pre-Mid-Life-Crisis” comedy Australia has ever seen.
Here is a look at the Official Poster for the film…
