Angry Boys (Chris Lilley) : New Comedy First Look

While everyone bangs on about the overseas success of Hugh Jackman, hot women that pop up as faceless hotties in US movies and sci-fi TV shows and… Tim Minchin – we overlook the international appeal of Chris Lilley. Why? Quite simply, the guy isn’t a publicity whore – he lets his work do the talking.

While We Can Be Heroes was pure genius, it was the follow up Summer Heights High which shot him to superstardom across the world. The show out-rated Little Britain USA on America’s HBO network and led to the unprecendented three-way-funded HBO / ABC / BBC greenlighting of his newest project Angry Boys.

Angry Boys has been delayed for months now, but we’ve finally got our first look.

We see the return of “Naaaaaaaaaaaa-than!” as well as a new character, who admittedly, seems to be a cross polination of Ricky Wong and Jam’aie. But how can you argue with gems like “I told you, I don’t like pork” and “Someone has been a little piggy”.

There is also the Gran Prison Guard – easily the stand out here.

It’s going to be great – check it out here…

From the bright lights of the big cities to small country towns, Angry Boys takes us to various locations around the world as Chris introduces several unforgettable new characters. Angry Boys is a look at today’s boys; their influences, their pressures, their dreams and ambitions.

The creative genius behind the award-winning shows Summer Heights High and We Can Be Heroes, Chris Lilley returns to ABC with the world premiere of his new 12-part comedy series Angry Boys.
